YEAR : 2020 LOCATION :CUNEO , ITALY BUILDING USE: MIXED STATUS: COMPETITION
Inspired by the vision of a ‘sustainable city’, where nature is fully integrated with the urban context, the design focused on designing a public space with an porours green rooftop , floating above the building volume to contain activities in a open space immersed in the vegetation. A roof that changes colours across seasons, with leaves colours changing from spring to summer , from green to yellow, a building that adapts to seasonal changes.
Multi program activities immersed in the green, in the centre of the Hystorical city centre of Cuneo. The design offers an open public ground , with a large central hall with cafes, a public green courtyard, a conference Hall and a public green porous roof garden, a building where visitors would feel connected to the city’s tree-lined streets whilst enjoying views, light and privacy, a place to connect to promote social activities and culture.
Technically efficient, the integrated green design performs various technical functions, both bioclimatic, ensuring thermal comfort using environmental resources as well as rain water re-use and recycling.
The project promotes a unique way of living in the city, with its combination of integrated natural materials and textures, and technical solutions all designed to mature over time : as the vegetation grows, the building changes and its features evolve.
