The kitchen design is inspired by the existing brutalist architecture context of the house, to create a modern look with modern brutalist inspired finishes: using granite stone for the kitchen top with a matt finish look to feel like cement and modern natural oak panels pre built modular carcasses.
The granite top was recovered and repaired with a colored epoxy resin. The stone, originally with a glossy finish, has been treated opaque to obtain a concrete effect finish. The resin for reassembling the granite pieces was mixed with a water-based paint to match with the grain of the natural stone.
The kitchen lighting is set for a dramatic effect , using integrated recessed LED strips, hidden inside the wall units for a grazing effect that enhances the quality of the finish. The appliances are all built-in except for the oven and the washer/dryer and the modules are equipped with doors with anti-stain treatment, push-and-pull opening without handles.
