Forest of sound
Forest of Sound by CH2O Chiara Zaccagnini is a play between nature and urbanization that reimagines the natural world through the lens of digital disruption. This series merges generative art with sound to create abstracted forests glitched and fragmented by the noise of human activity. The artworks are visions of captured noise as it interferes, evolving each time differently. It is a metaphor that examines the delicate interplay between human behavior and its far-reaching consequences, challenging our understanding of whether our actions are inherently natural or a force of disruption across all aspects of life. Inviting to ask a broader reflection: Is human action natural? Can we coexist harmoniously, or are we naturally bound to disruption?
Through the lens of digital disruption, the project reimagines forests fragmented by the relentless noise of human activity—generative art merges with soundscapes, creating abstracted, glitched forests that evolve with every moment of interference. Music artist Kwerk generates these abstract visions using electronic sounds. Their scratchy rhythms allude to the harsh intrusions of traffic and urban noise slicing through their surroundings.
