Plastic sea
Plastic Sea is a project that confronts the hidden impact of pollution on our oceans. Using a technique reminiscent of Pointillism, this work transforms photography into an illusion: from a distance, the viewer sees a pristine, untouched ocean—vast, serene, and seemingly intact. However, as one moves closer, the illusion shatters, revealing that the entire image is constructed from plastic bottles, replacing marine life with the waste that threatens it.
This shift in perception forces a confrontation with reality—what appears beautiful and whole from afar is, in truth, fragmented and polluted. Plastic Sea reflects the larger environmental crises we face as a species, highlighting how plastic waste has infiltrated even the most remote and fragile ecosystems. It challenges the viewer to reconsider their relationship with consumption, waste, and the future of our planet, reminding us that beneath the illusion of normalcy lies an urgent and irreversible truth.
